Thetis Lake

These hands crept over my old aching shoulders
And I felt the cold of ruin touch my face
This wind has caused my neck to bow in sickness
Thetis grant me passage to your resting place
I held a stone before you as the winds of discord
Tore this wall down and I felt the curse
Please allow my spirit to escape these Furies
And I will not beg you to make this reversed
I hurled the stone into your secret lake
As I stumbled to the shoreline, bent with age
I pray you'll soon absolve my ailing name

I feel my fingers dissolve
In the cold of february
But I held hope in my heart
When we walked the earth with our bodies
In the fall
I cast off the slumberous cloak
I bore when I crossed the prairies
The fates rush rush rushed to my side
Crying "No, this burden's yours to carry."
"For awhile."
Atropos, why have you come
At such an hour as this?
War is ever in my heart
And my heart pines for the west
This beach was calm
Its pull was strong
My heart was broken
By the light of dawn
O exodus
I won't depart
I can't recall the names
Of those who've gone
To distant horns
And fates unbowed
Say a prayer that
I'll never be found

The Wars of Alexander

Bucephalus, you swing your head
Away from me, you cast your eyes towards the sea
I laid these stones down by the path
That I never tread I never tread
But I pray they'll lead you back home
I ask of you "Is the war over?
For I saw your heart down by the water."
Bucephalus, you swing your fist
At our dimming past, our great divide
I watch the rift expand
I wish for you to guide me down
From this broken ledge. these vestiges
By your unswerving hand
Are you listening my friend?
I shall not cascade to madness this night
I fear you won't return, but I will not call or write
I shall not cascade to madness this night
Don't fear your shadow, I'm your shadow in the morning light

The Heart of Balmacarra
03:34

Darkness rests upon the evening sand
As I return to this place
I searched for evidence that we were ever here
But the ocean swept our paths away
The old beach displays its wrath
Pulling specters from its bank
I saw two men drown underneath the waves
We saw a fire rise beyond the stairs
And something called my name that night
It's pull was more than I could ever bear
And its light led me right off the path right off the path
It led me to a reservoir of ancient trees
So I formed a cross from rotting wood to comfort me
I spoke its name into the void
Reverberating through the sand
I've felt its presence rise at the seasons end
